* Candale was originally going to see both good and bad visions.
* Candale was going to have visions about his friends, in the present future, as well as visions of the distant future.
* Originally Illiyana was going to be a teenager, of 17, and Kylin was going to be Candale's nephew, Aylara's firstborn son. This was going to happen because Book 3, where Illiyana appears, and Book 4, where we initially met Kylin, were set 7 and then 10 years after the preceding book. When I changed this I had to change the characters.
* A removed idea from Book 1 was that Candale and his friends were going to explore a series of caves, looking for the frightening child that he had seen in his dreams.
*Ideas removed from Book 2, the Seer's Tower, include a rape, a magical shield around a library which hurts Teveriel when he tries to get in there and Tev and Dale being taken prisoner together, and Candale being sent to a mental asylum.
