An extract from Medyna's Choice, published by Neo-opsis, issue 8 and reprinted in Dred.
There was a sudden rush and the cold grew sharper, cutting through the room, through Medyna, like a sharp knife slicing easily through butter. The cold grew closer as Ellenessia moved closer, her blue eyes staring at Medyna with frightening intensity, as though they could see right through her. The demon had already read her mind, perhaps it could see through her, into her soul, what was left of it, at least. He was just a man, Ellenessia's voice told her, soft and alluring. Nothing special. I take many men. I take many women. I took him. I didn't take you. You should think yourself lucky. “No,” Medyna said, “not lucky. I want you to take me. I am nothing without him. I want you to take me, to end my life, to send me off to be with him. I-it looks a peaceful way to die. I could only hope for something that peaceful.” There was laughter, cold and sharp again. Four years of searching for me, just so I could kill you? How pitiful. How sad! I will oblige you.
